Learning goals
| Participants of the seminar “Strategic Management and Organization” shall enable students to independently incorporate themselves into a topic within the framework of a written composition. For a successful seminar, students will be taught methods of acquaintacademic research and writing. Usually, the seminar requires own empirical research which makes it inevitable for students to themselves with selected approaches of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The chair offers respective training courses. Students should be in a position to solve problems regarding the strategy and structure of organizations independently.

Learning content | Seminars at the chair of strategic management and organization are conducted with a focus on empirical methodology. Students are therefore enabled to learn different methods of empirical data analysis. The Seminar offers the possibility to concentrate on current with organizational or managerial affairs over a certain period of time. |
Forms of knowledge intermediation | This module requires the independent handling of a scientific topic. The results are to be presented and defended within the plenum afterwards. |
Recommended previous knowledge | A general affinity regarding empirical research is beneficial. Immerged knowledge of strategic management and organizational theories are required. |
Prerequisites | A previous registration is necessary. Please note the respective bulletin. |
Workload | - Time of attendance: 45 hrs

Temporal extent | One semester (3 contact hours). The module will be offered as a block course. The dates will be provides by the chairs’ bulletin. |

Connection with other modules | This lecture is part of the specialization module of the chair and therefore necessary for admittance of the master thesis at the chair of strategic management and organization. |
